At the beginning of his activities (early 60s of the twentieth century) my father, Domenico Petrunti, produced above all penknives and grafting knives. The typical form of the penknife of Frosolone was with the blade in the form of leaf of olive, and was made in two sizes: 13 and 14 cm in total length. My father was the first to introduce to Frosolone the blade in english type. He told me that he had seen this blade of a small penknife of Imperial knife that founder Michael (Mike) Miranda had given to him on the occasion of his visit to Frosolone. This is the knife commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the company made in 1966, which I still have in my collection. This type of blade was immediately appealed to my father who did make two die, for the penknife from 13 and 14 cm, and started the production. Immediately the other competing companies followed and this form of blade became typical of the production of Frosolone.. For the twentieth anniversary of my activities, (1995-2015), I decided to resume the production of the penknife 13 cm in a limited series and with precious materials: stainless steel W-1.4116 and stainless damascus Damasteel (ATS-34 and 440A) for the blades, various types of horn and precious woods for the handles, spring in stainless steel and inside scales in brass. I made a small change by removing the ring and realized on the head of the spring a hole for hanging. I also decided to punch the blades PETRUNTI DOMENICO FROSOLONE in honor of my father who has never used, in the course of his business, a brand with his name: or marked the knives with the name of the companies he worked for or with the name of his father Rocco Petrunti. Each of these penknives is accompanied by a sheath made of cloth and a warranty card with the logo of the twentieth anniversary.
